LOVING KIMMY HELPS A FAMILY DEALING WITH EARLY ONSET ALZHEIMER'S!

The mission of Loving Kimmy is to support, assist, educate, and provide resources for families that have a loved one diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's or other forms of early onset dementia.

This Christmas Season, we did just that by providing a traditional Holiday Turkey Dinner with all the fixin's for the five parents and 10 children that make up this family. We were also able to provide gifts to each of the 10 children!

Working through doctors and the fantastic workers at the California Alzheimer's Disease Centers, Loving Kimmy was able to identify a family that has two sisters both diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's. The mother died from early onset. She had three daughters, two of them have been diagnosed with early onset and are deep into the horrible decline the disease causes. One sister, the youngest is a caregiver to the oldest and all of the 10 children, ages nine through 24, participate in caring for the two sisters and they all support each other. The parents/husbands work and provide all that they can for their families

I visited with the families on December 23rd, along with my son Collin and my daughter Shannon. The family welcomed us with open arms as we embraced to share an unfortunate connection, and offer support, encouragement, and prayers!

I shared with them some of my story and the how and why Loving Kimmy was created. Meeting with this incredibly strong family brought back memories and deep emotions. Seeing these two women, both mothers and wives, in their varied stages of the disease, truly brought me back a few years to when Kimmy was in a similar decline.

Kimmy, who passed away on October 8th, 2023, truly loved the build up to the holidays. On December 22, 2023, Kimmy would have been 63. So, it was very important that Loving Kimmy, Inc found a way to honor Kimmy's life and her battle with early onset, by helping this family out this Christmas.

In 2024, we are looking to help more families, diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's or other forms of early onset dementia. Your donations and support will help us help others.
