Mood Swings, Anger Management, Anxiety-Often missed until after diagnosis!

The first symptoms of Early Onset Alzheimer's Disease, or other forms of dementia, often go unnoticed for months, even years. When a person starts having difficulties with every day events such as finding words, writing in cursive, balancing a check book, or finding their way to a destination they have been to a thousand times (like driving home), anxiety starts to build up. My wife Kimmy had these very issues. She did not realize it at first as the incidents were sporadic. The slow realization that something is not right causes frustration as well. The anxiety and frustration leads to mood swings and anger management issues. We did not know that something was seriously wrong, that she had a horrible disease slowly building in her brain. It was only after her diagnosis that we were able to look back and realize that her behavioral issues were the beginnings of dementia.
Stop for a second and think...what would you do or how would you react if you suddenly noticed you were having the issues described above. The "wondering" why you can no longer do something you have been doing your whole life would consume your thoughts...it would drive you crazy!
